Designer Macworld Part 3:

OmniGroup is one of my favorite Mac application developers. They make slightly niche, slightly quirky, but always very well-crafted and innovative applications that take full advantage of the technologies built into the OS.
iPhone 1.1.3 update leads to

Filed under: iPod Family, Software Update, iPhone It would seem that the latest iPhone/iPod touch update is doing a bit more harm than good. There have been reports that the 1.1.3 firmware is far less stable than the previous 1.1.2. Some of the problems with 1.1.3 being reported: * Error message during/after install of iTunes 7.6 and firmware 1.1.3 * Loss of sound output from the iPhone's built-in speakers * Bluetooth devices that worked with 1.1.2 no longer work * Mail problems While these problems certainly don't sound good, there are some remedies that seem to work. For the loss of sound, you can try turning the phone off and then back off or plugging headphones in and out. iPhone Atlas has listed some of the reported iPhone problems and some of the remedies that you can try. As always, be sure to check TUAW often for the latest iPhone news. Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Review: Contour Design Showcase nano

The two Contour Design cases we re reviewing today are from the company s famous Showcase family, which is known for several consistent design traits: clear front and back shells are accented with rubberized black plastic sides that latch together to form an almost entirely protective enclosure, which can be used with or without an included belt clip. Their good looks almost invariably enhance the designs of the iPods inside, and though

Backstage: What s Inside: Apple s 2007 AV

When Apple released the iPhone in late June, some iPod users noticed that Apple had changed the packed-in USB-to-Dock Connector cable to something a little different and probably less expensive to manufacture. The classic Dock Connector cable had two small buttons on its sides, intended to help you disconnect your iPod from the cable. Apple s new connector used a shell that was only half its predecessor s height and had no buttons. It
